ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Commercial Counsel will serve as an influential partner, providing broad and often complex legal advice and support to a global business in a variety of different areas. The Senior Commercial Counsel will work directly with associates at all levels of the business, from individual contributors to senior leadership, in many different functional areas. The role will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and will be based at Quanterix's headquarters in Billerica, MA. The role demands exceptional legal skills combined with business acumen. This is a great opportunity to shape the development of several initiatives at Quanterix and make a material impact on the growth of the organization.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Lead all legal and compliance matters as they arise in the commercial and operations organizations. This includes preparing, reviewing, and negotiating sales agreements, licenses, laboratory services agreements, research and development agreements, 3rd party vendor agreements, and consulting agreements.
  • Serve as a key legal advisor on business transactions, including alliances, licensing, and collaborations.
  • Serve as the primary legal and compliance team's contact to the commercial and operations organizations.
  • Support a wide array of functions including sales, marketing, manufacturing, logistics, product development, and clinical; provide tactical and strategic legal advice to the organization.
  • Advise concerning a broad range of legal, regulatory, and compliance issues while staying informed of legislative changes. Develop and deliver training to the commercial and operations organizations with respect to legal issues, policies and procedures.
  • Manage commercial disputes, including litigation.
  • Contribute to the company's governance, risk and compliance activities.



QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited university; be an active member of a state bar (preferably Massachusetts) in good standing
  • 7-10+ years of experience at in-house legal position or a law firm in a role drafting and negotiating commercial contracts for a commercial-stage life sciences company, ideally a research tool or diagnostics company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively and appropriately with internal and external stakeholders
  • Expertise and experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts; strong background in commercial law, contracts law and healthcare regulations
  • Able to work independently, with little or no supervision, as well as collaboratively
  • Possesses a solution-oriented, service provider mindset; able to analyze complex legal issues, identify potential solutions and provide pragmatic and practical guidance to the business
  • Strong interpersonal skills; positive and approachable demeanor
  • Able to excel in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment; adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events while meeting objectives, budgets, and timelines
  • Adept at balancing numerous matters and prioritizing effectively; strong time management and organizational skills
  • Unassailable integrity and ethics
  • Proficient with relevant IT tools for modern in-house legal practice, including CLM systems
