The Charlie Dunlop Biological Sciences Student Affairs office provides support and guidance to undergraduates throughout their time at UCI, through direct student advising, program and policy management, and strategic enrollment management. Student Affairs advises Biological Sciences majors on academic requirements, policies, and progress, as well as campus resources and opportunities. Our office is also the primary source of pre-health advising to students from all majors across UCI. The staff coordinate and deliver major advising programming including undergraduate research, student scholarships and recognition, new student advising & orientation, and seminars and workshops; and conducts all administrative responsibilities for BioSci undergraduates, from managing all scheduling and enrollment for the school through degree certification. The office staff also facilitates the BioSci Pre-med Postbacc program, which supports the academic preparation of students pursuing a career change into health professions. Your Role on the Team Utilizing a theoretical understanding of career development, advises students / alumni on a full range of career processes, including individual or group advising / coaching, career planning, setting career goals, decision making, and improving job search competencies. Provides a holistic approach to student / alumni career counseling, modifies workshops and presentations as necessary; OR maintains relationships with potential employers, school admissions representatives, and other organizations to establish contacts to meet the career needs of students. Performs independently but may receive guidance in developing new career advising / coaching services and programs. What It Takes to be Successful Required:
