Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers to drive operational excellence through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and cutting-edge technologies. This role requires a strategic leader who can balance technical expertise, project management, and employee development to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the facility.
Primary Duties
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high performance. Provide guidance and support for professional growth through training, coaching, and career development opportunities.
- Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Spearhead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives, overseeing the identification of process inefficiencies and the implementation of strategies to reduce waste, increase throughput, and improve product quality.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Analyze production data and performance metrics using tools such as Excel, PowerBI, and SAP to make data-driven decisions and provide actionable insights to senior management for process improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and other teams to ensure manufacturing processes are aligned with company goals, customer requirements, and compliance standards.
- Project Management: Manage and execute engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet budget, timeline, and quality targets. Use AutoCAD to design and optimize manufacturing layouts, workflows, and equipment.
- Safety & Compliance: Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including environmental, quality, and safety standards. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the facility operates within all guidelines.
- Innovation & Technology Integration: Stay abreast of the latest manufacturing technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing new tools or systems (such as SAP, PowerBI, and AutoCAD) that drive innovation and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Employee Engagement & Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employees to submit ideas for process enhancements, ensuring that ideas are properly evaluated, documented, and executed.
Qualifications
- Leadership & Management: Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing and developing high-performing engineering teams. Ability to motivate, guide, and support engineers in achieving both individual and departmental goals.
- Manufacturing & Process Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies, with a track record of successfully implementing process improvements.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in advanced Excel functions (data analysis, reporting, pivot tables), SAP for production and inventory management, and PowerBI for data visualization and decision-making.
- Design & Layout Optimization: Experience with AutoCAD for designing and optimizing production layouts, workflows, and equipment.
- Analytical & Statistical Expertise: Strong background in applying advanced mathematical and statistical methods, including analysis of variance, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing, to solve manufacturing problems and improve processes.
- Communication & Presentation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to executives, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams in a clear and compelling manner.
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Certifications: Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent) is required. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial position.
- Proven experience in driving Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives, with a solid understanding of operational excellence frameworks.
- Experience working with enterprise software systems, including SAP and AutoCAD. Proficiency with PowerBI is preferred.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $104,300.00 to $155,100.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
