A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Senior Manager, Product Marketing is a cross-functional leader within the organization and the primary owner and expert of the associated product lines and related portfolios. Along with their team, the manager leads the product planning, management, and marketing initiatives to provide users with best-in-class products and experiences. They serve as the primary commercial interface with all functional areas within the organization as well as external strategic partners for respective products. They work to identify, create, and execute marketing programs and initiatives focused on driving increased engagement, efficiencies, and sales growth throughout the organization.

A Product Marketing Sr. Manager at Tandem also:

  • Establishes, drives, and executes the strategic direction, and influencing the overall strategic direction of the company portfolio.

  • Translates market research and knowledge into product and customer requirements while providing technical guidance to employees, colleagues and customers.

  • Acquires, analyzes, and acts on market research information.

  • Influences the product development process by translating VOC into product requirements.

  • Accountable for the performance and results of a team who leads the design, development, and implementation of marketing campaigns.

  • Develops product positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences.

  • Manages product launches and ensures that products are successfully introduced to market.

  • Develops measures to track the effectiveness of relevant sales and marketing efforts.

  • Acts as internal and external champion of assigned product line(s).

  • Develops appropriate sales tools and collateral materials.

  • Communicates with management on product performance issues or market changes.

  • Participates in cross-functional teams in the product development process; primarily focused on product definition relative to customer needs and market opportunities.

  • Supports the short-term planning for the department including headcount, budgeting, training, and systems requirements.

  • Stays up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

WHEN AND WHERE YOU'LL WORK:

This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office 1-2 days per week but may vary depending on business demands.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA degree business, health sciences, or related field or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.

  • 8 years of related experience in medical device development process, product management, marketing, sales, or clinical support with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Prior experience leading/supervising a customer facing department and associated staff is preferred.

  • Experience in diabetes and/or consumer medical devices preferred.

  • Proficient in translating market research into product and customer requirements.

  • Proven ability to determine product requirements and implement them through product development and market positioning.

  • Demonstrated experience in setting strategic and tactical direction for the product line.

  • Strong knowledge and insight into the market, reimbursement, competition and other internal and external factors.

  • Knowledge and insight into the pump and pump accessories categories.

  • Identifies and solves technically and operational problems; understands and recognizes broader impact across the department.

  • Demonstrated presence with ability to clearly convey in-depth knowledge to all levels within, and outside of, the organization.

  • Highly skilled at creating a cooperative team environment.

  • Able to objectively evaluate situations and make recommendations for changes in light of project demands.

  • Experience with Agile Software Development Methodology is a plus.

  • Skilled at effectively communicating department or area issues and results within and across functional areas and conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or timelines. Able to gain cooperation of others.

  • Skilled at effectively leading a cooperative team effort and organizing resources to achieve team goals. Able to make and prioritize process and resource decisions based on overall team needs.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.

Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision available your first day, as well as health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You'll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
