Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences Job Description
The Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences at the University of Missouri School of Medicine is seeking an academically-oriented Clinical Director of Microbiology and Molecular Pathology Laboratories. The Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Pathology laboratory service includes specimen processing, bacteriology, virology, molecular microbiology, mycobacteriology, mycology, and parasitology. The Clinical Director will provide scientific and regulatory oversight to the laboratory and will work closely with the professional staff in the Division of Infectious Diseases of the Department of Internal Medicine, the Pharmacy, and the Infection Control personnel. The Clinical Director will provide additional oversight for the Molecular Pathology section or other selected clinical laboratory sections pending additional qualifications, expertise and interest. The faculty member is expected to contribute to the active teaching program of residents in clinical pathology with emphasis on Microbiology, Molecular Pathology, and related areas as applicable. Minimum Qualifications: MD, DO, MD/Phd, or a PhD, and be board eligible/certified by either the American Board of Pathology or American Board of Medical Microbiology. Application Materials
