What You'll Do:

  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives; support and guide staff to identify and eliminate waste, boost efficiency, and implement 5S and Performance Management methodologies.
  • Enhance plant productivity (OEE), eliminate bottlenecks, and reduce process cycle times.
  • Support Yield Management initiatives to monitor, analyze, and control plant yield performance; develop strategies to reduce volume losses and optimize raw material usage through Lean methodology and continuous improvement tools.
  • Maintain quality service by working with the quality lab and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Develop, oversee, and maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Model the core value of safety by contributing to a culture focused on safe work practices.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, codes, and standards for all projects (UL, NEC, NFPA, CE, etc.); participate in pre-task planning and report safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Continuously evaluate equipment, process operations, and controls to ensure personnel safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with the corporate engineering group and serve as a point of contact for contractors.
  • Take on individual plant projects from conception to completion.
  • Work closely with all disciplines to troubleshoot issues and ensure plant processes are aligned to achieve maximum output and efficiencies.
  • Design plant and equipment configurations adaptable to various product ranges and process technologies, considering safety, environmental, and economic impacts.
  • Provide control system designs, specifications, process control parameters, system testing, and start-up assistance.
  • Maintain engineering records including creating and updating Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and supporting development of operations and maintenance SOPs.
  • Install and commission new equipment, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, manage contractors, and document process changes and additions.
  • Support new product development from trial through commercialization and improve production lines.
  • Responsible for continuous and process improvement at the site.
  • Participate as a member of the Management Team, helping drive direction and culture for the facility.
  • Ability to multitask and determine workload priorities.
  • Take plant responsibilities for PSM.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with 2D CAD programs such as AutoCAD is desired.
  • Experience with PLCs is a plus (Rockwell, FactoryTalk Studio, Logix Designer).
  • Experience working in a PSM environment.
  • Experience with Management of Change (MOC) procedures is desired.
  • Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude and ability to collaborate effectively with other functions, including operations, maintenance and technical groups.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in a Lean/Six Sigma environment.
