Primary Job Responsibility:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all maintenance activities within the facility. This includes ensuring asset reliability, minimizing equipment downtime, managing maintenance personnel, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting overall plant operations by optimizing equipment performance and driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices. The Maintenance Manager ensures that maintenance strategies are aligned with operational goals, contributing to the facility's efficiency, reliability, and long-term success.

Description of Job Duties:
|
- Provide strategic leadership to the plant maintenance team, with a strong focus on planning and scheduling predictive and preventive maintenance programs and improving overall equipment reliability.
- Prioritize and assess the severity of daily maintenance issues and emergencies to minimize plant downtime and maximize productivity.
- Monitor, analyze, and drive improvement in key maintenance performance indicators such as asset utilization, maintenance costs, PM compliance, and schedule adherence. Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on data insights.
- Utilize statistical tools (e.g., Design of Experiments, SPC) to determine root causes of equipment failures and recommend design, process, or tolerance modifications.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, particularly those related to Process Safety Management (PSM) and OSHA VPP standards.
- Uphold and enforce all corporate health, safety, environmental policies, and internal procedures.
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture through active engagement with team members. Ensure a safe work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Foster a work environment centered on mutual respect, professionalism, and teamwork, in alignment with company values and standards.
- Ensure maintenance personnel are properly trained, resourced, and motivated to perform all tasks safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience:
|
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10 - 15 years of experience in petrochemical or chemical processing environments, with roles in engineering and maintenance.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams.
- Strong background in maintenance planning, project development, and execution.
- Demonstrated experience in the managing capital, maintenance, and engineering budgets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (including Microsoft Project).

Preferred Skills:
|
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with high-pressure systems, rotating equipment, and complex instrumentation in a petrochemical or refining environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and OSHA regulations.
- Demonstrated success leading organizational change or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience implementing or optimizing CMMS platforms such as Maximo, or similar.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop and mentor talent, creating a pipeline of future leadership within the maintenance function.
