About this Role - President: MJ Civil

We are looking for a talented President for the MJ Civil division who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and overall direction of the MJ Civil Division. This role ensures sustainable growth, operational excellence, and adherence to corporate values while maintaining strong relationships with clients, employees, and stakeholders

What You'll Do

- Develop and execute the division's long-term vision and strategic plan aligned with corporate objectives. Drive innovation, market expansion, and diversification of services.

- Ensure profitability and financial health through effective budgeting, forecasting, and cost management. Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed.

- Oversee all business lines and ensure operational efficiency, safety, and quality standards. Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and ethical standards. Maintain strong governance practices and report to the CEO.

- Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing safety, integrity, and collaboration. Lead succession planning, with a focus on talent development, retention and recruitment.

- Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and industry leaders. Represent M. J. Electric in public forums, industry associations, and community initiatives.

- Oversee civil construction operations, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

- Drive growth in civil infrastructure markets, including technology, utilities, and renewable energy sectors.

- Develop strategic partnerships with civil engineering firms, suppliers, and government agencies.

- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards in civil projects.

What You'll Bring

- Visionary leadership with strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.

- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

- Deep understanding of electrical construction industry trends and best practices.

- Extensive knowledge of civil construction, particularly as it relates to large scale electrical utility construction activities.

- Strong financial acumen and operational leadership expertise.

- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.

- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and industry standards for drilled shaft & shallow foundations, mass grading, duct bank, access roads & specialty anchors.

- Experience managing large-scale civil projects and multi-disciplinary teams.

- Ability to navigate permitting processes and regulatory requirements for civil infrastructure.

- Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting methods.

- Strong PC skills and software proficiency.

- Strong managerial/leadership skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related industry experience.

- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in utility construction or related industry, including P&L responsibility of $100M+.

- Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

- Frequent travel to job sites, client meetings, and industry events.

- Frequent overnight travel required.
