Title: Learning & Development Program Lead Executive Area: Human Resources Department: Human Resources Work Location: Amherst Schedule: Full Time Work Arrangement: Remote Job Summary The Learning and Development Program Lead designs, implements, and manages training programs to build employee and leadership skills, improve performance, and align workforce growth with organizational goals. The position assesses development needs, creates materials (online/in-person), facilitates training, and evaluates program effectiveness using data and feedback. In partnership with HR leadership, the position plays a central role in the development and delivery of the HR Academy, translating HR policies, procedures, and systems into practical, competency-based learning for HR practitioners and leaders. Through this work, the role supports a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence across the University. Essential Functions Needs Assessment: Conducts analysis of training needs and supports the creation of a strategic L&D roadmap to address skill gaps and build capabilities for the future, with a focus on assessing training needs for HR staff to ensure consistent and compliant HR practices. Other Functions Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree OD, Training/Instructional Design or related field. Additional Details Reports to the Senior Learning and Development Program Manager. Working Conditions Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion. Work Schedule and Work Arrangement Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. This position has the opportunity for a remote work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where the employee's work location is to work from a site other than the UMass Amherst campus. As this position is non-unit, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees Non-Unit (Professional/or Classified) Employee Personnel Policy. This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee's work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position is non-unit, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees Non-Unit (Professional/or Classified) Employee Personnel Policy.
