Join Our Team as VP of Marketing

Consumers Credit Union (CCU) is looking for a Vice President of Marketing to drive member growth, deepen member engagement, and make marketing a measurable growth engine for the organization. If you're an experienced marketing leader who proactively serves as a marketing strategist and consultant across all departments, is focused on lead generation and conversion, and has a successful track record of achieving results with the marketing team - we want to meet you!

This position is hybrid with 3 days onsite at our corporate office in Lake Forest, IL.

About the Role

As the VP of Marketing, you'll build and coach a high-performing team, establish department roles, processes, and key performance metrics, and partner cross-functionally with nearly all business units internally. You'll be responsible for owning CCU's brand story, elevating member voice and community impact, and leveraging CRM/lifecycle expertise to enhance member journeys and maximize lifetime value.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead integrated, multi-channel marketing strategies that drive new member acquisition and deepen multi-product engagement.
  • Define and deliver measurable growth goals for new member acquisition, product penetration, and engagement using data, attribution models, and performance dashboards.
  • Build, coach, and lead a high-performing marketing team with clear roles, KPIs, processes, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align marketing priorities and initiatives with enterprise strategy and business objectives.
  • Own and evolve CCU's brand, amplifying member voice and community impact through authentic content, social, PR, and financial wellness initiatives.
  • Advance CRM and lifecycle marketing capabilities, designing segmented journeys to improve onboarding, activation, cross-sell, and retention.
  • Manage marketing budgets and agency/vendor partnerships to maximize ROI and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and report on key metrics across acquisition, engagement, retention, and brand health to guide strategy and investment decisions.


What We're Looking For



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Project Management, or closely related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience spanning growth strategy, digital and lifecycle marketing, CRM, brand management, and agency/vendor management - ideally in financial services, fintech, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams, with 5+ years in people leadership roles.


  • A strategic, creative marketer who brings ideas to life and translates vision into measurable business outcomes.


  • Ability to lead complex initiatives, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with executives and cross-functional partners.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships across diverse teams, cultures, and stakeholder groups.


Compensation

The salary range for this role is $164,089 - $262,547 per year. This role is eligible for an annual bonus opportunity and a long-term incentive plan. A specific salary offer considers factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

You will be eligible to participate in the 401(k) savings plan at any time. You will be automatically enrolled in the pension plan following six months of employment and 1,000 hours of service and reaching age 20.
