Job Summary:

The Seal Coat Laborer is responsble for preparing asphalt surfaces for sealcoating, crack fill and striping. Once surface is prepared will perform tasks using an assortment of hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc. to seal coat, fill cracks and perform other asphalt repairs.



Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    Actively participate in job-site and safety meetings and all Company related training.
  • Works in conjunction with Foreman or Crew Leader to ensure the job-site is safe and traffic is controlled prior to commencing work.
  • If driving a comercial motor vehicle, CMV, will conduct pre/post trip inspections in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Inspect, clean and maintain equipment and machinery.
  • Responsible for reporting problems and malfunction equipment and/or machinery to supervisor and/or shop personnel.
  • Set up and tear down equipment.
  • Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day.
  • Use equipment and/or an assortment of hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc.
  • Perform all other general laborer work as needed.


Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):

  • Prior experience in asphalt paving or construction preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of road and traffic regulations
  • Comfortable with physical labor and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid Drivers License preferred.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area.
