The impact you'll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

What you'll do

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical engineering design and support within the Sabre Electrofill Product Group. To perform effectively in this role, the engineer should ideally possess a solid understanding of both the Sabre product and the core principles of electroplating.

This position encompasses a variety of design, analysis, and support functions. Key responsibilities include engaging in product development initiatives, implementing customer-requested improvements, conducting failure analysis, and driving quality improvements within the supply chain as well as Lam manufacturing operations.

To be successful in this position, the engineer must effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders. This includes working closely with process engineering teams, key account technologists, product management, product support personnel, and all facets of supplier management. Such collaboration ensures that all aspects of the product lifecycle are addressed and that the engineer can contribute meaningfully to projects and ongoing operations.

Strong decision-making skills are essential, as many projects require the engineer to provide direction to suppliers and exercise sound engineering judgment. The ability to guide suppliers and make informed choices directly impacts the quality and performance of the products developed.

Additionally, this role requires the engineer to operate within a matrixed organization, where assignments may come from various groups. The engineer must be capable of teaming with other engineers and managers to achieve shared objectives, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to collaborative work.
