ABOUT THE POSITION

Senior Technology Project Manager

VHB's Corporate Technology Enablement Team is seeking a Senior Technology Project Manager to join the team. Your responsibilities will encompass steering the complete lifecycle of various Technology projects both with External Client's and potentially within VHB's internal landscape. This involves overseeing the entire spectrum of project activities, from conception and design, to development, testing, and implementation that are aimed at providing technological solutions to meet the end-users' requirements.

Technology-enabled consulting is at the forefront of VHB's approach to solving our clients' and communities' most complex challenges. Data and technology inform and play a key role in the built environment. Digital twins enhance emergency response and asset management. Smart street lighting helps to lower energy cost and consumption. Technology-enabled transportation infrastructure supports connectivity of all travel modes, and safe mobility is at the forefront of VHB's solutions including all modes of mobility from automated aircraft, motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. How data is harnessed and applied in new and innovative ways to make informed decisions is key to addressing complex, shared challenges.

Typical projects involve a wide array of technologies and applications of technologies including areas such as Digital Twins, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), GIS, Big Data Analytics, Software Development, Relational Database Management Systems and Mobile Data Collection. Your role will be pivotal in steering these initiatives toward success.

Responsibilities

    Develops and implements robust project management processes and methodologies to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Offers potential technology strategies, policies, and procedures by analyzing project outcomes, identifying issues, studying trends, and anticipating future requirements.
  • Manages technical and non-technical aspects of medium-scale projects.
  • Determines project needs and secures resources vital for successful project execution.
  • Conducts financial and budgetary analysis to determine project value and identify the most suitable solution that aligns with user needs and VHB standards.
  • Defines, delivers, and supports moderately complex plans for implementing technological innovations.
  • Selects and assembles project teams, efficiently assigns tasks and responsibilities, and oversees resource allocation and day-to-day project flow.
  • Serves as a liaison between team members, external clients, and upper management, fostering effective communication and alignment.
  • Ensures the adherence to deadlines and established quality benchmarks, providing comprehensive reports to clients or project sponsors.
  • Offers guidance and technical mentorship to project team members; communicates clear job expectations; monitors performance and evaluates results.
  • Mentors less experienced project personnel, providing valuable guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Actively engages in professional and personal growth, aligning with career aspirations.
  • Executes all job responsibilities while adhering to relevant federal, state, and local regulations as well as VHB's internal policies and procedures.

Skills & Abilities

  • Exemplary skills in concurrently managing multiple projects.
  • Solid grasp of technical intricacies related to software and systems.
  • Proven record of ability to foster partnership, exert influence, provide consultation, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Collaborative with capability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner, while maintaining effective and positive collaboration with colleagues.
  • Initiative-taking, highly organized, and detail oriented.
  • Skills and knowledge must be commensurate with required experience and job level.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of project management experience and 5+ years of related technology experience
  • BS in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering, Geography, or relevant degree
  • PMP Certification
