Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the full spectrum of outsourced accounting services to our clients, delivering high quality accounting, reporting, and advisory support for high net worth families, private real estate entities, investment entities, and related complex ownership structures. This role is ideal for a detail oriented, client focused professional with strong technical accounting skills and deep familiarity with real estate operations, family office structures, and multi entity environments. You will oversee day to day accounting, support financial reporting cycles, coordinate with internal and external advisors, and contribute to a best in class client experience. Our Senior Accountant communicates directly with clients and provides transactional, close and reporting services as required by each engagement. This position is also responsible for guiding clients through the implementation of Sage Intacct, Bill.com and other cloud platforms as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple clients, including individuals, trusts, family partnerships, LLCs, and real estate entities (operating, development, investment).
  • Record financial transactions accurately and timely for multiple clients.
  • Process vendor bills and invoices and execute payments using appropriate payment platforms.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank records and company accounts; reconcile payroll transactions and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Develop and execute an agreed upon close schedule for each assigned client.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, and prepaid adjustments in accordance with U.S. GAAP reporting standards.
  • Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and payment tracking.
  • Maintain clear, organized documentation of accounting procedures and work performed.
  • Prepare initial draft monthly management reporting packages for client manager review.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for individuals, entities, and consolidated structures.
  • Maintain accurate books and records, including cost basis for properties, capital accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Monitor property-level accounting activities such as rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, loan schedules, project draws, and property-specific accruals.
  • Track budgets, cash flow, liquidity needs, and financial performance for family office clients.
  • Implement, optimize and support Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and related cloud platforms; assist with onboarding new clients.
  • Escalate issues to consulting management in a timely and complete manner.
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members and external advisors to deliver client solutions.
  • Provide assistance to team members as needed to contribute to a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required (Accounting or Finance preferred).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting-related roles, preferably within an outsourced accounting environment.
  • Industry experience aligned with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, real estate, or investment entities is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting for complex, multi-entity structures.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, BILL, expense management software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with implementing and onboarding new clients.
  • Experience managing full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes.
  • Ability to prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close packages.
  • Demonstrated experience reconciling bank, credit card, and investment accounts across multiple entities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex information into actionable solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy skills.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong client service mindset.
  • Ability to actively engage with client management to resolve issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Commitment to staying current on technical accounting standards and industry developments.
  • Proven ability to maintain high levels of client satisfaction that meet firm standards.

Compensation:

This role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S.-based positions are determined by geographic location and fall into one of three pay zones, which reflect the cost of labor in that area. The anticipated salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:

  • $71,359.00 - $119,932.00
