Ameren Illinois is a regulated electric and gas delivery company based in Collinsville, Illinois. Our service territory spans 43,700 square miles, or about three-quarters of the state. Every day, we deliver electricity to 1.2 million electric and 806,000 natural gas customers in more than 1,200 communities in central and southern Illinois.

Under indirect and intermittent supervision, and working on a shift basis in the greater East St. Louis Operating area, to inspect and operate, as required, both on routine schedule and on call, any of the specified distribution substations, including automatic and manual stations; to open and close switches, start, stop, load and unload the various items of equipment in accordance with standard instructions and instructions received from the distribution dispatcher's office; and to perform similar and less skilled work as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent and satisfactory completion of the requirements of the Electrical Mechanic Apprentice Program
• One year of experience as an Electrical Mechanic or equivalent
• Be alert, observant, have legible handwriting, good eyesight and hearing, and have ordinary strength and able-bodiedness.
• Must pass the Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) test [Note: See "Employment Testing" section on www.ameren.com under the "Careers" section].
• Behavioral Interview
• DOT physical, drug screen
• Successful candidate must be able to obtain CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
