Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Portfolio, Director to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Portfolio Director for Implementation and Execution is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing and driving execution of major initiatives across the portfolio. This includes new contract implementations, scope expansions, AI and automation initiatives, and large-scale operational improvements.

This role partners closely with executive leadership, operational owners, IT, project management, and cross-functional teams to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. The Portfolio Director establishes consistent execution standards, monitors enterprise progress, identifies risks, and supports leaders in achieving successful outcomes across the portfolio.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of high-priority initiatives across the portfolio, including new contract implementations, scope expansions, AI and automation deployments, and cross-functional operational improvements.
  • Serve as the operational point of accountability for initiative performance, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Drive alignment across business lines and ensure cross-functional teams are coordinated and prepared for execution.
  • Translate enterprise strategy into actionable execution plans in partnership with the VP of Strategy & Execution.
  • Develop and maintain portfolio execution frameworks, playbooks, and governance structures that promote consistency and accountability.
  • Facilitate prioritization and sequencing of portfolio initiatives to align capacity and resources.
  • Coordinate the operational design and rollout of new contract requirements to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Support AI and automation initiatives by aligning business processes, stakeholders, and change-management needs.
  • Assess operational impacts, develop transition strategies, and support organizational change.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with Operations, IT, Clinical, Compliance, Finance, and PMO leaders to support seamless execution.
  • Support initiative owners and project teams by removing barriers, resolving risks, and escalating issues when needed.
  • Facilitate communication, leadership updates, and initiative reviews to promote transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Monitor initiative progress, outcomes, KPIs, and operational performance using standardized dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to executives based on performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure post-implementation evaluations are completed and lessons learned are incorporated into future work.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Operations, or business related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in operations, portfolio management, strategy execution, or large-scale implementation leadership, preferably in healthcare, government services, or technology-driven environments.
  • Experience leading multi-workstream initiatives, program or portfolio governance, or major contract implementations.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, change management, and technology-enabled transformation (AI/automation preferred).
  • Ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Master's preferred.
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, Human Services, or Healthcare Administration environments.
  • Familiarity with PMO frameworks, process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma), and enterprise change-management approaches such as ADKAR or Prosci.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
