As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will welcome drivers, associates, and visitors while managing badge checks, entry logs, and controlled access points. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support loss prevention efforts, and deliver clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, drivers, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff access control points at a logistics and distribution location by greeting entrants, verifying identity, checking authorization, and directing traffic flow as needed.
  • Monitor vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit, help to prevent unauthorized access, and report irregular activity according to site procedures.
  • Process visitor and vendor check-in and check-out, issue credentials when authorized, and maintain accurate access logs and/or reports.
  • Conduct package, trailer, and/or vehicle screening activities as directed by site policy, and document exceptions for management review.
  • Use radio and/or telephone communications to coordinate with site personnel regarding arrivals, departures, and operational changes.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, and other access control systems where assigned, and report issues and/or suspicious indicators through the established chain of communication.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and access disputes.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of dock areas, yard gates, building entrances, and perimeter lines; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Complete shift documentation such as daily activity reports, incident reports, and access control records in a timely, detailed manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
