Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Gatehouse in Albuquerque, NM, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will support access control by verifying credentials, issuing and tracking badges, and managing entry points for employees, drivers, and visitors. You will perform routine patrols and remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, while delivering customer service through clear communication and quick assistance. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges, and maintaining visitor, vendor, and contractor logs.
  • Screen inbound and outbound foot traffic and vehicle traffic as required, including directing drivers to designated check-in areas, docks, and staging lanes.
  • Monitor shipping and receiving areas for unauthorized access, open doors, and unusual activity, helping to deter theft and/or loss at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Conduct bag checks and/or package inspections when authorized by site policy and in accordance with local requirements.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV, and access control systems, documenting observations and notifying site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership of issues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, disturbances, and fire or equipment alarms.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including parking areas, dock doors, trailer yards, and restricted zones. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Maintain detailed shift activity logs and incident reports, including access control activity, deliveries, and unusual conditions.
  • Support site operations by enforcing traffic rules, coordinating with transportation partners, and escalating policy violations through the established chain of command.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
