Azure Cloud Security Architect (Hybrid - North Houston Area) 12month Contract \| HighSecurity Environment \| ImpactDriven Project Are you an Azure Cloud Architect who thrives in highsecurity, highstakes environments? This organization is undergoing a major modernization and cybersecurity uplift, migrating CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) applications into Azure GCC High. They're operating against a hard regulatory deadline, offering you the chance to step in, lead, and make an immediate impact. This is a rare opportunity to build secure, compliant cloud environments from the ground up - while partnering with engineering, security, and architecture teams on a missioncritical federal compliance initiative. What You'll Do As the lead Azure Cloud Architect, you'll design and validate cloud infrastructure to meet strict federal compliance frameworks, including FedRAMP Moderate/High, GCC High, IL4/IL5, and CMMC requirements. You'll ensure every aspect of the cloud environment adheres to rigorous zerotrust, leastprivilege, and auditready standards. Key Responsibilities: * Architect secure, compliant Azure GCC High environments for CUI application hosting * Define cloud networking, identity, encryption, monitoring, logging, and access control standards * Validate configurations against DoDapproved controls and federal compliance requirements * Lead cloud migration planning and execution activities * Partner with security and infrastructure teams to implement zerotrust and leastprivilege models * Produce architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, and evidence for compliance audits * Support preparation for upcoming thirdparty CMMC assessment Required Experience * Azure Cloud Architecture (GCC High / GovCloud) * Designing compliant cloud environments for CUI workloads * FedRAMP, NIST 800171, CMMC, DoD cloud security frameworks * Zerotrust design principles * Architecture documentation (diagrams, control mappings) * Complex cloud migrations Nice to Have * AZ305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert * Experience supporting CMMC audits or working with C3PAOs * Prior work in defense, aerospace, or governmentregulated industries Work Environment * Hybrid onsite - 3 days onsite (Tue-Thu), remote Mon/Fri * Join a focused team of cloud architects, security engineers, and application architects * Fastpaced project tied to a federal compliance deadline (September/October) * Opportunity to influence foundational cloud security decisions Why This Role Is Exciting * Immediate impact: You'll shape the security posture of critical CUI applications * High visibility: Work closely with architecture leadership and PMO * Missioncritical: Your work directly supports a federal cybersecurity certification * Modern tech: Azure GCC High, zerotrust, and scalable secure architectures Location North Houston area specifically in Spring, Texas (Hybrid schedule) Screening Requirements * Background check * Drug test Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Spring, TX.
