Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Center Network Technician Lead to oversee and support the daily operations of our data center network infrastructure. This leadership role is responsible for managing a team of technicians, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, assigning tasks, and performing hands-on technical work including fiber and copper cabling, server maintenance, and break/fix activities. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and coordinate a team of network technicians in daily operations and project execution. * Assign and track work orders, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards. * Maintain accurate and detailed Time on Task and performance reporting for team activities. * Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and issue resolution. * Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling to support data center connectivity. * Perform break/fix troubleshooting and repairs on servers, network hardware, and related infrastructure. * Ensure compliance with data center policies, safety standards, and best practices. * Maintain documentation of network layouts, cabling diagrams, and incident reports. * Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians. Required Qualifications: * Proven leadership experience in a technical environment. * Strong knowledge of fiber and copper cabling standards and installation practices. * Hands-on experience with server hardware maintenance and troubleshooting. * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Proficiency in documenting tasks, generating reports, and using ticketing systems. Preferred Qualifications: * Industry certifications such as BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNA. * Experience with structured cabling systems and data center best practices. * Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks. Work Environment: * On-site role in a high-availability data center environment. * May require lifting equipment up to 50 lbs and working in confined spaces. * Occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance windows or emergencies. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
