In the role of Transportation Project Accountant 2, we'll count on you to:
  • Work autonomously on client invoicing, collections management and project budgeting
  • Accurately contract documentation, administration and maintenance, including fee and budget entry
  • Support project managers and accounting team with project initiation documents
  • Work with section and project personnel to provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues
  • Read and understand client and internal contracts
  • Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and work with technical staff to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
  • Schedule project meetings
  • Assist multiple project managers and staff on a daily basis
  • Mentor junior project accountants as needed
  • QC/Audit subconsultant invoices and related documentation
  • Coordinate with PMs for document filing in Project Wise and maintain all aspects of document control for projects
  • Prepare contracts/amendments using approved company templates
  • Maintain and track project insurance certificates and issue renewals upon request
  • Assist with prequalification of subs performing field work
  • Maintain action item and decision logs
  • Assists in development of project-specific Quality Management Plans and works in close cooperation with the Project Manager and Task Leads for monitoring and oversight of project quality activities
  • Work with the Project Manager in development of project-specific QMPs and verify that QMP is current and up to date including subconsultant documents
  • Monitor and ensure quality process for deliverables is being followed by project team
  • Oversee subconsultant quality activities and deliverable review
  • Work with project team to ensure deliverables are submitted on time
  • Manage quality deliverable schedule, and ensure coordination between design discipline reviews
  • In quality management system, schedule project reviews and team meetings and deliverables
  • Assist with preparing presentations and reports to the client
  • Prepare agendas, schedule meetings, take notes, follow up with action items
  • Type, format and organize project documents, reports, specifications and correspondence
  • Exhibit professionalism with clients
  • Complete tasks autonomously
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Experience supervising other financial professionals beneficial
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience
  • Familiar with Earned Value Management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position is $34 - $50/hr and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
