Job Overview

Komatsu Company Stores is a major distributor of Komatsu and Allied OEM heavy construction equipment in the northeast and is owned by Komatsu America Corporation. This person will play a critical role inoverseeing shop and field repairs, services, maintenance of equipment, and directs the troubleshooting, inspection, repair, and testing of equipment. This position is based out of our Winslow, NJ location.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains repair schedules for all personnel on daily basis.
  • Creates the work order and oversees the ordering of necessary parts and materials, and provides all pertinent information to service clerk for closing of work order and invoicing within company policy.
  • Maintains constant communication with Customers by providing repair estimates, change recommendations, scheduling, and completion dates, and obtains customer approval for all the above.
  • Takes responsibility for receiving, pre-delivery, and delivery condition for all new equipment, maintaining all necessary records. Advises sales department of conditions and status.
  • Provides repair estimates, change recommendations, scheduling, and completion dates services and obtains approval for all the above for the Sales Dept. Oversees the receiving, delivery, & maintenance (on arrival) condition of all rental units.
  • Communicates and schedules with Outside Vendors, Manufacturer Personnel, etc. concerning repairs, services, maintenance of Equipment.
  • Oversees Maintenance of Shops, Bays, Trucks, Tool Rooms, Component Overhaul &Testing Areas for Safety and Cleanliness.
  • Assumes responsibility for the Specialized Tooling condition, maintenance and updating.
  • Has responsibility for maintaining failed parts removed from all machines -customer, internal, or warranty repairs within company guidelines.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or equivalent
  • 5 years experience as heavy equipment (construction or mining) technician
  • Thorough understanding of basic mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and structural systems
  • Understanding of Company products (specifications, applications, operation, maintenance, structure/function, testing/adjusting, repair)


Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $80,000-90,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
