Specifically, we are looking for aTS/SCI cleared Hardware Test Engineer - SMEto support this mission atPope Army Airfield, NC.

Responsibilities:

As a Hardware Test Engineer - SME, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include:

    Provides technical and management leadership for all hardware testing initiatives within system T&E support, establishing overarching goals and strategic plans for leveraging advanced testing to achieve robust technical validation and mission readiness for C2ISR systems.
  • Directs and controls the strategic design, development, and implementation of hardware T&E systems that define system design activities, architectural analysis, design validation, and operational requirements verification across all C2ISR technological systems.
  • Possesses expert domain and technical knowledge in hardware test engineering, system T&E, and C2ISR platforms (avionics, airborne, shipboard, land-based), applying this to define and drive the technical roadmap for providing system T&E insights that enable continuous technological optimization and mission readiness.
  • Has overall responsibility for establishing and implementing innovative hardware testing approaches that provide comprehensive system performance assessment across diverse technological environments and support direct involvement with non-deadly components weapons systems.
  • Engages in high-level client negotiations and interfaces with senior management regarding the strategic vision, capabilities, and resource allocation for advanced hardware T&E solutions for C2ISR systems.
  • Utilizes expert domain knowledge and decision-making that has a critical impact on the overall project implementation, ensuring testing of system constraints, software characteristics, and performance capabilities achieves optimal mission readiness.
  • Directs and controls the methods and staffing for hardware test engineering teams, ensuring delivery of high-impact, scalable, and resilient test solutions that optimize C2ISR system quality and reliability across all platforms.
  • Provides authoritative guidance on leveraging hardware T&E to shape C2ISR system design, development, and deployment practices, influencing overall system architecture and operational deployment.
  • Establishes and governs the architectural principles, tools, and platforms for all hardware T&E efforts, critically impacting the reliability, performance, and operational effectiveness of C2ISR technological systems.
  • Shapes the future direction of system T&E for the TO by pioneering new hardware testing techniques, research, and advanced validation capabilities, directly impacting mission success.
  • Utilize the following TO Management & Financial Tracking Tools: Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate); G Invoicing API; ASSIST portal integration; variance analysis dashboards; MS Project; Primavera; GFP management modules; WBS tracking systems; ServiceNow; Jira Service Desk; automated RIP/CTP/TAR workflows; SharePoint libraries; Confluence; Microsoft Search; lessons learned databases; video library repositories; eMass, Archer GRC; internal audit portals; Excel/SharePoint audit templates; CMDB with version control; Power BI with R/Python integration; Tableau; predictive analytics engines; Teams; Azure AD role based access; mobile access via Power Apps.
  • Utilize the following Role Specific Tools: Systems Integration Lab (SIL) environments replicating RGEP baselines; tri domain lab tools for IL4/IL5/IL6 enclaves with routing/VRF and crypto modules (FIPS 140 3, HAIPE); hardware instrumentation and measurement systems (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, RF test sets); avionics and SATCOM test benches; tactical relay kit (TRK) integration platforms; automated test equipment (ATE) for component validation; interoperability and regression testing dashboards; performance and load testing platforms for hardware throughput and latency; environmental and stress testing chambers (temperature, vibration, EMI/EMC); configuration management databases with version control for hardware baselines; policy testing frameworks with golden test packs and version control; time synchronization utilities (PTP, GPSDO) for hardware correlation; test readiness review (TRR) packages with test matrix, golden data hashes, SLO compliance charts, and rollback procedures; operational test (OT) scenario validation tools for IOC/FOC milestones; documentation templates for hardware test plans, test reports, and lessons learned repositories.


Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Hardware Test Engineer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level:
  • 12 years of relevant experience with BS/BA, OR 16 years without a degree OR 14 years with AS/AA OR 10 years with MS/MA, OR 7 years with Ph.D.
  • A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
  • US citizenship is required
  • DOD 8140 Compliance based on functional role for WRC: 451 Systems Administrator Advanced / ability to obtain

Desired Qualifications:

  • DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.

Work Environment:

  • Location:Pope Army Airfield, NC
  • On-site expectations: Full-time on-site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking
  • Travel:May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
