Position Summary

The Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking a Program Therapist to support our First Episode Psychosis (FEP) clinic and related clinical, educational, research, and community outreach initiatives. Under indirect supervision, this position provides evidence informed clinical care, evaluation, and consultation services to adolescents and young adults, typically ages 15 to 30, who are experiencing a first lifetime episode of schizophrenia and other psychosis spectrum disorder including bipolar disorder.
The Program Therapist plays a central role in delivering coordinated specialty care, supporting clinic operations, and advancing program development. Responsibilities include direct clinical services, family therapy and psychoeducation, care coordination, and support of administrative and scheduling workflows. The therapist will also contribute to training and mentorship of junior staff and learners and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary treatment team.
In addition to clinical care, this role supports broader program goals, including community outreach and engagement as well as research. This includes collaboration with community partners, referral sources, and stakeholders to improve early identification of psychosis, facilitate access to care, and support education and prevention efforts across New Mexico.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provision of individual, family, and group-based psychotherapy in person and via telehealth
* Psychoeducation for patients and families within a coordinated specialty care model
* Clinical consultation for FEP, training of staff and learners, as appropriate
* Support of clinic operations, scheduling, and care coordination
* Participation in community outreach, education, and engagement activities
* Assistance with project implementation and logistics, including consenting, screening, and assessment
* Data collection, entry, quality assurance, and support of reporting requirements
* Contribution to grant supported activities, curriculum development, and regulatory compliance

This is a term, full time, benefits eligible position, with anticipated continuation beyond the 2026 term end date. The position is based in Albuquerque and is hybrid, with the majority of work occurring in clinic and office settings and some remote work, as appropriate. Limited travel within New Mexico may be required. Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; no previous experience required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
* Current licensure in New Mexico in a mental health related field (LPCC, LPC, LISW, LMSW, LMHC, or equivalent)
* Experience working with first episode psychosis, schizophrenia, or psychosis spectrum disorders
* Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, trauma exposure, and suicide risk
* Experience providing clinical care, training, or consultation in person and via telehealth

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in coordinated specialty care or early psychosis programs
* Experience with research, program evaluation, or data collection in clinical settings
* Interest in community outreach, education, and early intervention initiatives
