Hourly Pay Range:

$19.31 - $28.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

A Brief Overview:
As a Telemetry Technician you will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms and vital signs of patients on telemetry and reporting any changes or abnormalities to the nursing staff. This role plays a crucial part in patient safety and early detection of cardiac issues. The position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.

What you will do:

  • Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and vital signs of patients on telemetry using electrocardiogram (ECG) equipment.
  • Recognize and promptly report any significant changes or abnormalities in cardiac rhythms to the nursing staff and healthcare providers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of telemetry equipment to ensure accurate and reliable monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient cardiac rhythms and related data, documenting any interventions or actions taken.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate information regarding patient cardiac status.
  • Respond to alarms and alerts from telemetry monitors, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper functioning of equipment
  • Adhere to strict privacy and confidentiality guidelines when handling patient information and telemetry data.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in telemetry technology and attend mandatory training sessions and in-service education programs.

What you will need:

  • Diploma or Vocational Degree General Studies Required or High School General Studies Required
  • One year of hospital experience as a Telemetry Technician is preferred; training may be provided.
  • Successful completion of an EKG Rhythm Interpretation Course during orientation period, which includes a comprehensive exam.The course must be approved by Endeavor Health Nursing Education.
