At Tactile Medical, we specialize in developing at-home therapy devices to treat lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency and respiratory illnesses. We're looking for a Technical Scrum Lead who can help teams deliver high-quality software by combining strong agile practices with solid technical understanding. In this role, you'll facilitate Scrum ceremonies, keep projects on track, coordinate releases, and make sure the team has what it needs to succeed. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to maintain clarity and momentum. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in changing environments, can adapt to shifting priorities, and enjoys balancing process with practical problem-solving. Responsibilities
- Lead Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives) and coach teams on agile principles.
- Keep work visible and organized using Azure DevOps (ADO) boards, dashboards, and reports; ensure consistent Scrum/Scrumban practices.
- Help remove blockers, manage dependencies, and improve flow across engineering, UX, QA, and integration teams.
- Build and maintain project and release roadmaps; adjust plans to match team capacity and changing priorities.
- Track milestones, risks, and dependencies; share clear updates with leadership and stakeholders.
- Coordinate release plans and schedules across multiple environments.
- Drive delivery commitments by monitoring progress, escalating risks, and ensuring teams meet sprint and release goals.
- Keep documentation up to date for each release (e.g., SDS, SRS, security artifacts, user guides).
- Work with Product Managers and Business Analysts to refine and prioritize backlog items.
- Collaborate with development teams on workflows and wireframes to support software experiences; use data and feedback to validate assumptions.
- Bring enough technical knowledge to engage in meaningful conversations with engineers.
- Perform occasional code reviews to help ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
- Encourage healthy technical discussions and accountability within the team.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for engineering work across teams; enforce agile discipline and optimize team throughput.
Qualifications Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Product, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience leading Agile software delivery from planning through release, including risk management and stakeholder alignment.
- Hands-on Scrum facilitation with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Comfortable operating within structured internal processes (e.g., PDP) and maintaining documentation/checklists to ensure compliance.
- Willingness to become an expert in FDA regulations and regulated software processes (e.g., Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and 510(k)).
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- 3+ years as a Scrum Master, Tech Lead, or similar role in software development.
- Experience with mobile application development (iOS, Android) and related tech stacks.
- Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, SaMD) and cybersecurity standards.
- Knowledge of modern development practices (CI/CD, cloud, security, observability).
- Some formal Agile training or certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe) is a plus.
