STS Technical Services is hiring an IFR Helicopter Pilot to support air medical operations based in Palestine, Texas, with coverage across East Texas, including Wills Point, Longview, and Mt. Pleasant. This role supports critical care transport operations and places pilots at the center of life saving missions flown in demanding environments.

This position is built for experienced IFR pilots who bring discipline, precision, and sound judgment to every flight. You will operate multiple aircraft types while supporting a safety driven, CAMTS aligned operation.


Position Overview

The IFR Helicopter Pilot supports air medical transport missions under established regulatory, safety, and operational standards. Pilots operate across multiple bases and aircraft types, flying day and night missions in a high reliability environment.


About the Operation

  • Air medical transport operating under CAMTS guidelines
  • Aircraft types include Bell 407, EC135, and EC145
  • VFR and SPIFR or NVG operations
  • Instrument rating required
  • Twenty four hour operations with rotating day and night shifts
  • Paid travel between East Texas bases
  • Strong safety culture focused on operational excellence

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual
  • Conduct safe and efficient air medical missions across multiple aircraft types
  • Assist with patient and equipment loading and unloading as required
  • Support Safety Management System initiatives and company safety campaigns
  • Participate in community outreach activities
  • Deliver professional and courteous service to internal and external customers

Minimum Qualifications

  • Commercial Helicopter Rating
  • Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • First Class Medical Certificate
  • Meet CAMTS minimum flight time requirements:


    • 2,000 total flight hours
    • 1,500 helicopter hours
    • 1,000 hours PIC helicopter
    • 500 turbine helicopter hours
    • 100 hours unaided night or
    • 50 hours unaided night and 100 hours NVG
    • 75 hours instrument time, actual and hood

  • NVG qualified or eligible
  • Body weight not to exceed 235 pounds
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated internal and external customer service skills

Pre Employment Requirements

  • Ability to pass a pre placement physical and functional capacity exam including lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Drug screening and background check
  • Interview and acceptance by PHI Health management
  • Annual flu vaccine not required

Schedule & Location Requirements

  • Seven days on and seven days off rotation
  • Schedule rotation may be required
  • Paid travel to support multiple East Texas bases
