We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Accounting Automation Analyst with deep expertise in SAP to lead automation initiatives across our accounting operations. This role will drive process improvements, enhance system efficiencies, and support digital transformation efforts within the accounting function. Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards
- Assist in automation projects in operations accounting using SAP S/4HANA, including the design, testing, and implementation of automated workflows
- Perform monthly settlement allocation for month end close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation of all transactions
- Collaborate with IT and accounting teams to identify automation opportunities, streamline processes, and reduce manual intervention
- Develop and deliver training materials and user support for new SAP functionalities and process changes
- Monitor automation performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend enhancements to optimize system efficiency and data integrity
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to accounting automation and SAP advancements
- Assist in design and implementation of workflows to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy in support of continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain documentation for automated processes, controls, and audit trails
- Support month-end and year-end close activities with automated reporting and reconciliation tools
- Closely monitor data across key systems to ensure alignment and data integrity
- Document and analyze end-to-end business processes across finance and operations to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and implement improved workflows
- Develop and oversee resource tools used in accordance with managing large amounts of data to ensure completeness and accuracy
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, IT, or related field
- At least three (3+) years of experience in accounting operations, with at least two (2) years in SAP
- Proven experience implementing automation solutions in a corporate accounting environment
- Experience with SAP configuration/customization and working with SAP software solutions
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Process oriented with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least three (3+) years of experience in Oil & Gas accounting specifically
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in data tools such as SQL, Spotfire, or Power BI is a plus
- Familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus
- Understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls is a plus
