Responsibilities
  • Receive, enter, and process prescription orders under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Prepare, label, and package medications for dispensing including non-sterile compounding.
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and prescription records.
  • Deliver medications or supplies to the appropriate team, patient, or department per policy or protocol.
  • Responsible for the proper storage and security of medications, supplies, and equipment in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures and all applicable laws.
  • Greet and assist patients in person, at bedside, and by phone in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Answer routine questions and direct clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Resolve basic insurance and billing issues to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Process point-of-sale transactions and handle cash/credit payments.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • IL Cert Pharmacy Tech; IA preferred.
  • National Certification from one of the following:
    • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
    • National Healthcareer Association
  • Class 1 Driver License (IA, IL or WI)
  • Proof of Auto Insurance

Experience: 1 year pharmacy technician experience.
