Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the FP&A Manager. Their primary purpose will be to focus on the development of presentation documents to senior leadership and external stakeholders, complex accounting analyses, and the review of department month-end entries. The Senior Financial Analyst works with department managers and senior leadership as well as other corporate departments.

Experience & Education

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent finance experience

A minimum of five years of related work experience.

A minimum of two years working in an academic medical center, hospital system, or related field.

Extensive experience preparing budgets, forecasts, long-range business plans, and detailed variance analyses.

Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies and budgeting

Key Responsibilities

Review of all contract renewals and tracking

Review business plans, budget variances, flexible budget, and overall performance results with service lines and operational areas.

Review of month end closing entries and entries prepared by other staff

Oversee monthly variance analysis and reporting for departments

Collaborate with leadership to generate meaningful reports and support action to improve financial performance

Coordinate with senior financial planning and budget staff on improving departmental processes and reporting

Assists with educating and training operational areas and new finance staff on budget and business planning processes

In collaboration with service lines and Strategic Finance, prepare multi-year business plans for new clinical programs that include volume, payer, revenue, expense, capital, and ROI assumptions

Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and evaluation of business plans. Work with operations to develop action plans for under-performing services

Participate in the annual review of products, RVUs, volumes, and fixed / variable splits for the cost accounting and flexible budgeting systems

Salary Range: $40.39 /hour - $64.63 /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
