JOB SUMMARY

The Global Director of Business Development will provide strategic guidance and execute "Solution" initiatives for the entire Doble portfolio. This senior level role will be responsible for the management and leadership of a team of Business Development Managers, Sales Engineers, and our Business Development Specialists. This role will be based in one of our Doble locations or remote-based within a territory reporting to the Vice President of Sales (VP).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Manages team of Business Development Managers, Sales Engineers, Business Development Specialists responsible for their line of business.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Prepares reports for senior level management to help track their team's progress.
  • Ensures that staff have the resources they need to complete their work in an optimal manner.
  • Acts as a liaison with senior level management and other department managers by developing productive, collaborative relationships and utilizing clear and effective communication.
  • Identifies and develops strategic growth opportunities for Doble portfolio of products and services.
  • Provides on-going leadership and support to the global sales organization.
  • Supports market intelligence on the competitors and customers.
  • Expands the market for solution for Doble by identifying and reaching out to new potential customers and segments.
  • Assists in the negotiations in closing key local accounts with sales team.
  • Assists Doble senior management in providing strategies, key market data, and supporting documentation in creating a total solution.
  • Provides technical presentations which promote Doble solutions.
  • Develops and communicates customer value propositions which will provide a ROI based solution for the end-customer.
  • Coordinates the pre-sales activities to ensure the technical aspects of the Doble portfolio are demonstrated/communicated.
  • Proactively provides on-going communication with the RSD's and RSM's, to ensure visibility to opportunity pipeline, pricing, resources, sales support, and competitive intelligence.
  • Update Salesforce on opportunities, and on-going activities.
  • Attends trade shows to identify and meet key industry influencers.
  • Assists the Doble senior management in the creation and execution of the strategy to launch new solution offerings.
  • Conducts post-sales follow-up with key decision makers and stakeholders.
  • Perform annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
  • Provide regular check-ins and development discussions with direct reports.
  • Ensure that business transactions remain in compliance of the legal requirements of laws and policies such as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Sarbanes-Oxley Act, polices of the US Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC"), US sanctions policies and localized trade laws and/or policies.
  • Adheres to all company policies, ethics, and procedures ensuring that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the VP of Sales.
  • Determines and leads the strategic direction for opportunities with the Doble Portfolio with the RSM.
  • Works with the RSMs and Sales Channel partners in developing the strategic direction for accounts and opportunities within sales pipeline.
  • Provides guidance, manages and utilizes Doble resources and third parties to advance partnerships and sales opportunities.
  • Manages schedules, priorities, travel, and manages company expectations.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Marketing OR an equivalent to a four-year degree
  • Equivalent experience above the required minimum may substitute for the four-year degree


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • A minimum of 10 years minimum business development experience or technical experience.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Doble solutions or similar.
  • Experience in selling consulting services, software, and integrated solutions.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with internal and external customers.
  • A demostrated record of building, managing and closing a multi-million dollar sales pipeline.


  • Exceptional background in building and selling strong business cases to key decision makers.
  • A successful track record of developing and delivering cost benefit analysis, value propositions and winning bids.
  • Outstanding presentation skills in making presentations to a spectrum of audiences.
  • Experience or ability to lead/manage and direct the work of others from a non-managerial role.
  • A clear track record of carrying challenging sales quotas and meeting/exceeding annual goals for innovative products/services/software offerings that are new to the market.
  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally if required.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple priorities across the Doble
  • Excellent written and oral English communications skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):



  • Electrical Engineering or similar technical degree.
  • Experience in the electric utility industry.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Salary Pay Range Minimum $149,628.85 - Midpoint $187,036.06
