VP Product Management, Financials

Job Description:

The VP, Product Management Financials will lead the overall product strategy for our Financials. The VP, Product Management Financials will lead a team of product managers and have broad responsibility for executing on NextGen's strategic agenda, drive growth, inform M&A and partnership decisions for your product portfolio, and manage the operations and processes around building great products that deliver customer value. In addition to defining and executing a robust product vision, strategy, and roadmap, this role will be a key contributor to the company's efforts to transform and modernize the product management function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute product strategy, informed by the product portfolio strategy as well as customer and market input.
  • Strategically develop and implement a product strategy and roadmap aligned to market trends to maximize opportunities and achieve financial goals - P&L, revenue, bookings, costs, overhead etc.
  • Partner closely with the engineering team and partners, to execute on product roadmaps, backlogs, and prioritization, establishing priorities and performance KPIs, ensuring an exceptional end-to-end user experience and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Work collaboratively with the CPO and other constituents to formulate and lead a strategic plan for product growth, encompassing the development of new products, buy vs build, and the enhancement of legacy offerings.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of NextGen's prospects, customers, competitors and partners, and their strategic direction, pain points, desired integrations, and culture, to develop a thoughtful and informed perspective of product and market positioning, including competition and differentiation.
  • Develop and manage key customer impact and performance measures e.g., patient adoption, patient satisfaction, product usability etc.
  • Oversee product releases to ensure alignments between product, support and service operations, and collaborate with finance, sales, and marketing on go-to-market messaging, pricing strategy, and business models needed to introduce new products and/or features.
  • Coordinate business and contractual arrangements with partners specific to the market.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements specific to patient solutions markets are accurate and delivered within deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain a robust product lifecycle management framework, focusing on revitalizing aged products and spearheading the creation of a comprehensive technology and offering platform.
  • Assure that product P&L and other financial objectives are integrated in the product management lifecycle, including cost management, pricing optimization, revenue growth, and margin improvement.
  • Build and provide direction, context, and leadership to team of product managers capable of delivering high-quality products within aggressive timelines.
  • Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, marketing, software engineering discipline, or a related field.An advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.

Experience Required:

  • 12+ years of increasingly responsible and relevant leadership experience in software product management, and proven ability to build and lead high-performing product teams.
  • Deep healthcare/healthcare IT industry experience in either an Ambulatory or Acute Healthcare environment.
  • Strong expertise in managing product development cycles, and proven track record of bringing to market complex solutions comprised of multiple products and multiple lines of business.
  • Experience writing business cases, performing market analysis, developing go-to-market strategies, and managing backlogs for solutions across multiple markets.
  • Significant general management and P&L experience. Financial savvy, aligning product strategy with company financial goals, including cost management, revenue growth, and margin improvement.
  • Experience navigating complex situations and managing multiple stakeholders with diverse priorities to achieve consensus.
  • Experience in a private equity-owned company preferred, especially in a growth-focused environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of:Deep understanding of healthcare technology, product management best practices, and a passion for improving patient care. Minimum Viable Product (MVP) concept and Agile development process; Product Lifecycle practices.
  • Skill in:Leadership, communication, cross-functional collaboration, executive level presentation, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to:Define and manage complex process, workflows, and product issues; develop compelling product vision and drive product to successful execution; lead and motivate a team of global professionals in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment; drive strategy, development, and execution of product deliverables in a timely manner; work on concurrent projects with critical/urgent timelines; disseminate product concepts, updates, and deliverables; establish and maintain effective working relationships through collaboration and respect.
