NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to the SVP, Business Services Credit Officer. Responsible for overseeing the Underwriting team within the Business Services Department. The VP, Business Services Underwriting is responsible for managing the Business Services Underwriting team and serves as a lead resource, trainer, and liaison between leadership and associates. Has regular contact with existing members, prospective members, and other professional providers used by the Business Services Department. Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk.


REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 10 years of underwriting experience. Experience should include analyzing complex commercial real estate and Middle Market C&I financing requests. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
2. A minimum of 5 years of managing, auditing or direct supervision within a business credit department.
3. Demonstrated process improvement experience developing work processes that reduce errors and increase productivity.
4. Must have experience or be able to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job including systems related to deposit and loan products.
5. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently as a valuable team member in a dynamic environment.
6. Must have the ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
7. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related State and Federal laws and regulations.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Responsible for leading the Business Services Underwriting team in achieving goals through coaching, development and training. Acts as the Subject Matter Expert.
2. Responsible for team goals that align with Business Services goals.
3. Oversees review process for business loans as it relates to appraisals and environmental reports.
4. Situationally reviews loan documents and loan files to ensure compliance with Landmark policies and procedures.
5. Reviews and/or prepares all business loan reports as per the business loan policy and others as assigned on a timely basis.
6. Manages the underwriting of new requests, renewals and annual reviews in preparation for final review and/or approval by SVP, Business Services Credit Officer.
7. Responsible for ensuring underwriting completed in compliance with Landmark policies, procedures and structure.
8. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of analysis, including identification of credit risks, proper assessment of collateral, cash flow coverages and correct risk ratings.
9. Responsible for ensuring timely completion of all underwriting assignments.
10. Analyzes processes to identify blocks and delays. Works with cross functional teams to drive improvements.
11. Assists the SVP, Business Services Credit Officer to create and maintain process flows and related procedures and assists in leading training initiatives to ensure adherence to processes.
12. Assists in the annual review of the business lending policy and procedures.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
