Job Overview

Title: Certification Technician

Reports to: Planning & Certification Supervisor

Location: Kent, WA - onsite

Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule Type: *100% Onsite: Monday - Friday, 1st shift; Ability to work overtime as needed - including occasional weekend support.

Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)

Position Summary

Employees in this position work to create accurate Certifications from customer supplied purchase orders, specifications, drawings, work packets, and other documentation. Employee will review and act as final quality acceptance prior to development of certifications for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews customer purchase orders and processes for accuracy.
  • Reviews specification and/or drawing revision levels, special instructions and handling or packaging requirements to ensure accuracy.
  • Verifies that all processes and worksheets are complete and accurate within the internal work order.
  • Inputs, creates, signs, and stamps certifications in preparation for product delivery.
  • Ensure all purchase orders, purchase order changes as well as any other job-related documentation is properly addressed for permanent record keeping.
  • Correctly uses Real Time Problem Resolution (RTPR) system to resolve issues with paperwork.
  • Utilize problem-solving abilities to identify and troubleshoot transactional issues within the certification process.
  • Monitor reporting tools and metrics for priority planning



Qualifications

  • Must have the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Excellent proof-reading abilities and spelling are essential as well as the ability to provide extra attention to detail and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to interface professionally with customers.
  • Must be computer literate and have a good working ability in Microsoft Office products as well as ERP system experience is desired, Syteline experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read, write and communicate in English - including the ability to read written purchase orders and paperwork.
  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license is required for non-US persons.



Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency and 1+ year experience working in quality, specifically within a production environment.
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the surface finishing industry is a plus.
  • General knowledge of aerospace specifications and blueprint reading ability.


Essential Mental/Physical Demands

Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods. Extensive use of hands in writing, computer and other office equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, chemical fumes, or airborne particles.

Salary Range for position: $21.00 - $28.00. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to your relevant experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other employees.
