Job Summary
The Machine Operator plays a critical role in the New Build Department by expertly operating surface mount machines to ensure efficient production processes. This role involves hands-on machine operation, monitoring, and maintenance to meet production quality and schedule requirements within a collaborative team environment.
Primary Duties
- Carefully learn, understand, and comply with comprehensive, detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and quality in production processes.
- Operate surface mount machines by precisely loading components, overseeing machine functionality, and ensuring continuous operation with minimal downtime.
- Perform basic troubleshooting to quickly identify and resolve machine-related issues, minimizing disruptions to the production line.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including production logs, machine settings, and maintenance records to support traceability and process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct counts and quality checks of finished goods and supplies to verify production outputs and report discrepancies as needed.
- Actively participate in ongoing team activities aimed at improving operational efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety through continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support production goals, communicate machine status, and contribute to problem-solving activities.
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe and productive working environment for all team members.

Education / Experience
- Prior experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or production setting is preferred, with familiarity in surface mount technology considered an asset.
- On-the-job training will be provided to ensure proficiency with specific machines and processes in the New Build Department.
- A high school diploma or equivalent educational background is typically expected; additional technical certifications related to machine operation or electronics manufacturing are advantageous.
