Job Summary

The UC Davis Redwood SEED Scholars Program is a four-year residential, inclusive college program for students with intellectual disabilities. Under the general supervision of the Redwood SEED Director, the Student Experience Manager is responsible for implementing strategies that enhance the residential, academic, employment and social experiences of the Redwood SEED Scholars. This position fosters a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment, contributing to student engagement, well-being, and success. The Student Experience Manager supervises a large team of student assistants and mentors, ensuring effective training, scheduling, and performance management. This position will identify and remedy areas of need or change with the responsibility for: supporting scholars in urgent, including after-hours situations; creating mentor schedules; supporting mentors; analyzing program systems; identifying scholar, mentor and Team needs; providing support, guidance, problem solving and effective communication; and curating a wide range of activities that align with the program's mission of delivering an exceptional student experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in education, student affairs, psychology, or related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in coordinating programs, activities, or events that support student engagement and development.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 and other software (e.g., Slack, Teams, Canvas).
  • Experience supervising or leading a team, with demonstrated ability to train, organize, and motivate others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to effectively work with individuals with intellectual disabilities and members of the Redwood SEED Scholars' administration team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to independently identify program and scholar needs and anticipate and solve potential problems during changing conditions and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • Experience working in Residence Life at a university or high school.
  • Experience supervising a large team.
  • Experience with event management.
  • Familiarity with higher education systems, including student services and resources for students.
  • Knowledge of UC Davis and UC Davis Health policies and procedures.

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
