Job Overview

We are looking for someone with a passion for the construction industry, knowledge of GPS machine control technologies, and a desire to be involved in impactful work. In support of overall Smart Construction solutions adoption targets and commercial expansion, this role is part of the Smart Construction Design team which develops 3D construction models for Komatsu Distributors and/or customers throughout North America. The Smart Construction group is responsible for development, marketing, and delivery of a suite of innovative digital solutions to the North American construction market.

Key Job Responsibilities

Duties will include producing 3D GPS models and Takeos from customer or Komatsu Distributor supplied construction plans and AutoCAD les. The role will regularly engage those customers to discuss projects while working within an internal team collaborating on delivery of projects within the desired time frame. Utilizing the latest software to produce 3D surface models for GPS machine control and construction layout equipment is required. Ultimately, this role will be responsible for accurate data and making sure the information provided is translated into construction equipment properly. This position will provide a quality 3D modeling solution to be utilized in 3D systems manufactured by TopCon, Trimble, Carlson, Leica, and others.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Prociency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, or other civil design software is desired Prior drafting or 3D modeling experience is strongly preferred
  • Ability to read construction blueprints is required
  • Comfortable using the various tools of Microsoft Oce
  • Strong attention to detail in every area of work
  • Strong self-motivation with the ability to multitask, manage work independently
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required - bachelor's degree preferred Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills .Ability to interface and communicate with many levels of a customer's project team including managers, engineers, superintendents, foremen, grade checkers, and operators
  • Strong computer skills are a necessity; ability and willingness to learn new software programs is required
  • Extensive math skills

Additional Information

Will consider a home office employee that has demonstrated the ability to successfully work remote. Must be able to travel periodically to meetings, customer/Distributor/industry events, or other company engagements.
