Pay Rate: $19.35 per hour

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Utilizing knobs/levers on automated equipment (i.e., forward feeding, tilting and sliding) dump cages full of live chickens onto conveyor belts.
• Controls the flow of live chickens being dumped on the processing line.
• Frees any cages that get stuck and notifies the supervisor of any problems.
• Wash empty cages as needed.
• Tied cages from trailer.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have basic mechanical aptitude to adjust and/or fix stuck cages (requiring pushing and pulling up to 200lbs) or minor machine malfunctions.
• Ability to make decisions on the number of cages to dump to maintain an even flow of live chicken on the conveyor belt.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in hot, dusty and wet environment.
• Must be able to stand, walk for 8-10+ hours. Repetitive foot and motions, bending and forceful pulling motion required.
• Must possess a license to drive a forklift.
