Summary: The Construction Manager will be responsible for on-site observations of Railroad and Railroad related construction projects. Supervisory Responsibilities: Possible mentoring and supervision of other field inspection staff and subcontractors. Education and/or Experience:
Training: Employee must complete all Railroad and STV Health and Safety trainings/certifications required, for the respective Railroads upon which he will be working, within two weeks of hire date. Special Skills: Employee must be competent in the use of electronic media and associated applications, i.e., smart-phone, laptop computer, email, digital photography, data entry, or demonstrate a propensity to learn the systems. Specialized Knowledge: The employee must be capable of reading and interpreting contract drawings and specifications. Certificates, Licenses, Registration: None required but technical training/certification/licensing in any areas related to this position is a plus. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Candidate must be willing to travel out of town as needed on a regular basis. This position will be a Full Time with working workings hours developed by contractors and Railroad. This position may include extended daytime hours, night, and/or weekend hours. Candidate must be able to traverse rough terrain, steep grades, and sites covered with heavy vegetation. Candidate will be required to work on high structures, such as bridges, and such structures may be over waters or moving traffic as well as around the presence of numerous tripping hazards (track structures, utilities, etc.) Candidate must be able to work in extreme weather conditions as all the work for this position is conducted in the field in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Working Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The working environment will consist of working in the field in uncontrolled atmospheric conditions such as cold, heat, snow, rain, mud, etc., and may require that the candidate also deal with certain pests such as mosquitoes, gnats, flies, snakes, etc. A field office may not made available, so the CM may need to work from/in their vehicle. Also, sanitary and sustenance (food & water) facilities are not always readily available. Compensation Range: $137,697.82 - $183,597.09Don't meet every single requirement?
