Gladman is licensed as a 40-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC) providing sub-acute psychiatric treatment to adults 18 and older.

Shifts Available:

Full Time | Shift Hours and Days vary as needed

Expected starting wage is $21.89/hour



    STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

    We exist to help people with mental impairments realize their full potential.

    POSITION OBJECTIVE

    The Housekeeper is the staff member that performs tasks that involve cleaning and servicing the building areas of the facility. In addition, a variety of housekeeping duties are performed in order to maintain the facility in an orderly, sanitary and attractive condition.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    One (1) year of housekeeping experience in a hospital, hotel, motel or similar work setting is required. Necessary skills include an understanding of the use of the tools, equipment, chemicals, and cleaning solutions used in housekeeping tasks. The ability to read, write, and speak English is crucial, as is the willingness to work with mentally impaired adults. Applicant must be finger printed and receive clearance from Criminal Justice Department.

    QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF WORK



    • Plans, organizes, directs the PM shift housekeeping services
    • Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures.
    • Provides training and supervision to newly hired housekeepers on the PM shift.
    • Maintains and practices expertise in all duties and responsibilities of a Housekeeper.
    • Thoroughly and consistently performs housekeeping duties.
    • Implements the security policy:



    1. Maintaining responsibility for the master facility key.
    2. Providing supervision and assistance during the cleaning of the administrative offices.
    3. Cleaning locked offices within the resident's unit.



    • Coordinates and implements the contamination and infection control procedure on the PM shift including decontaminating resident clothing.


    TEAM MEMBER PARTICIPATION



    • Participates as a team member and provides input via reporting observations, concerns and asking appropriate questions.
    • Provides coverage as a Housekeeper in the event of an emergency call-in.


    JUDGMENT, DECISION MAKING AND INITIATIVE



    • Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of equipment and supplies.
    • Reports defective equipment or needed repairs to supervisor.
    • Executes, as required, the facility Fire, Disaster and Safety procedures.
    • Assists with the management of assaultive behavior upon request by the clinical staff.
    • Reports fire and accident hazards to supervisor.
    • Supervises the PM Shift housekeeping staff within allocated budgetary parameters.
    • Coordinates the efforts of the PM shift housekeeping with other departments. In the process of accomplishing this, promotes the cost effective use of personnel, supplies, and equipment.
    • Coordinates the inventory control program by:



    1. Distributing supplies
    2. Receiving reports of defective equipment
    3. Making recommendations regarding needed repairs.



    • Assesses the quality of work rendered by the PM shift housekeeping staff and ensures that sound procedures are followed.
