Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of mission-critical software systems for the Fort Meade Customer. The Software Engineer will apply strong analytical and programming skills to translate user requirements into reliable, high-performance software solutions using modern development practices.

Analyze user and system requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design, develop, and code new software or modify existing software to add or enhance functionality.
• Debug and troubleshoot existing software to identify and correct defects.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases and data repositories.
• Participate in software testing, integration, and validation activities.
• Provide recommendations to improve software documentation, development processes, and standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, administrators, and mission stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline required.
• Experience developing software in C++ and Python.
• Experience analyzing requirements and translating them into effective software designs.
• Familiarity with Linux-based development environments.
• Experience supporting software integration and sustainment in mission or production environments.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
