Job Title: Public Health Program Director/ Chronic Disease Program Director Location: Nashville, Tennessee, 37243 Pay Rate: $33/hr. on w2 without benefits Duration: 4+ months (possible extension) Hours/Day: 37.5 Note: Hybrid Position (Travel Required) Job Description: Subject Matter Expertise in tobacco and vaping cessation programs. Strong leadership and supervisory skills (able to manage staff such as the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program Director 1). Ability to develop training and orientation programs for new staff. Experience with contract management (Quitline service provider, Tennessee Primary Care Association, etc.). Budget development and monitoring skills to ensure proper fund allocation. Skilled in technical assistance delivery to grantees and partners statewide. Strong communication skills for engaging staff, stakeholders, and community partners. Ability to plan professional development opportunities tailored to grantee needs. Competence in data collection, analysis, and reporting for state and federal requirements. Experience in resource development and dissemination (tobacco control materials). Ability to collaborate with epidemiologists to integrate data into program planning. Strong stakeholder engagement and coalition-building skills. Personal Attributes Strategic thinker with a public health systems perspective. Collaborative and able to work across diverse communities and organizations. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills. Passionate about reducing tobacco and vape use and improving population health outcomes. Required Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in: Public Health. Education. Or a closely related field. Required Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional health program work. At least 2 years of supervisory experience or statewide program oversight. Proven track record in program management, evaluation, and implementation within public health.
