Job Title: Public Health Program Director/ Chronic Disease Program Director

Location: Nashville, Tennessee, 37243

Pay Rate: $33/hr. on w2 without benefits

Duration: 4+ months (possible extension)

Hours/Day: 37.5
Note: Hybrid Position (Travel Required)
Job Description:

  • Subject Matter Expertise in tobacco and vaping cessation programs.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills (able to manage staff such as the Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program Director 1).
  • Ability to develop training and orientation programs for new staff.
  • Experience with contract management (Quitline service provider, Tennessee Primary Care Association, etc.).
  • Budget development and monitoring skills to ensure proper fund allocation.
  • Skilled in technical assistance delivery to grantees and partners statewide.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging staff, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Ability to plan professional development opportunities tailored to grantee needs.
  • Competence in data collection, analysis, and reporting for state and federal requirements.
  • Experience in resource development and dissemination (tobacco control materials).
  • Ability to collaborate with epidemiologists to integrate data into program planning.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and coalition-building skills.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in:

    • Public Health.
    • Education.
    • Or a closely related field.




Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional health program work.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience or statewide program oversight.
  • Proven track record in program management, evaluation, and implementation within public health.
