Job DescriptionProvides leadership in the pursuit of Company safety goals and initiatives, including the management of the Company's safety procedures and policies, safety training of Company personnel and performance of formal safety audits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises two hourly employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, procedures, practices, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, rewarding, disciplining employees, discharging; planning, assigning, directing, and managing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QualificationsQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative, but not all inclusive, of the knowledge, skills and or abilities required. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene or a related field, plus 5 years' experience in occupational health, safety and/or environmental compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and standards is required; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience is required. At least 2 years' supervisory or lead experience in manufacturing plant safety is required. Other Skills and Abilities: Basic First Aid training required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification. Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
