Responsibilities

The Primary Therapist conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, facilitates individual, family, and group therapies, and provides clinical support to the program as needed.

Essential Duties:

  • Therapeutic Facilitation: Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using Newport Healthcare's unique clinical model and the principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT).

  • Family Liaison: Act as the primary clinical contact for families, ensuring clear and proactive communication throughout the treatment process to enhance family involvement and support.

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans upon admission, followed by thorough biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including a psychiatrist, to establish and monitor treatment goals. Participate in regular 30-day treatment plan reviews to ensure alignment and progress.

  • Documentation Management: Maintain clinical records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with organizational standards.

  • Crisis Intervention: Conduct risk or crisis assessments and implement appropriate interventions to manage acute situations effectively.

  • Team Engagement: Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff gatherings, and clinical supervision to promote a collaborative and supportive team environment.

  • Organizational Representation: Represent Newport Healthcare at professional meetings, trainings, and conferences, advocating for our mission and clinical practices within the broader community.


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school required.
  • Licensed or ability to transfer license in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychologist in the state in which services are provided
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.

Compensation for this role ranges from $67,200-$86,100 per year depending on education and experience.
