SUMMARY:
The Business Systems Analyst reports to the Manager of Data Analytics &Insights within the Quality and Safety Division. Under general supervision and within Brown University Health established policies, the Business Systems Analyst collects, aggregates, summarizes, and consults on various sources of operational, quality, safety, patient experience and performance data throughout Brown University Health. This position will also assist in developing the business and technical requirements, planning, development, and rollout of front-end reporting tools, as well as supporting departmental data management processes and facilitating projects aimed at improving data quality and the accelerating adoption and effective use of data and analytics solutions to drive continuous clinical and operational process improvement across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily intake management
Triage incoming requests and issues from business customers.
Partners with customers to identify, evaluate and document data requests.
Drives intake requests through lifecycle of data collection, evaluation, and approval
Obtains and conveys concise problem information as needed to properly inform others on escalated issues and minimize hand-offs.
Coordinates and directly engages in data collection, data preparation/cleaning, and workflow analysis to support internal process evaluation and improvement and reporting to external entities.
Prepares, coordinates, and facilitates cross-team meetings with Data Analytics &Insights management and Senior Analysts to identify requirements and confirm scope of requests.
Identifies, documents, and escalates risks to data quality as appropriate.
Coordinates and tracks identity and access management procedures
Develops, maintains, and troubleshoots reports and dashboards.
Tracks progress of tickets and follows up with other support staff involved to ensure service requests and incidents are resolved and customer communication is complete.
Continually grows general knowledge of Brown University Health's data and analytics applications and data systems to increase the ability to resolve requests on first contact.
Develops effective presentations.
Creates and maintains effective data management standard operating procedure documentation.
Continuously evaluates the Data Analytics &Insights intake, validation, customer acceptance, maintenance, and issue resolution procedures to make process improvements and ensure effective and efficient workflow is used to expedite evaluation of requests.
Facilitates process improvement activity aimed at optimizing business processes and operational workflows to ensure reliable high-quality data capture, data quality, improve adoption and effective use of data and reporting solutions; including but not limited to facilitating informational sessions, root cause analysis sessions, process mapping, and failure modes and effects analysis sessions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business or a similar field is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare data analytics
2+ years of experience with analytics support, business intelligence or data warehouse environment is preferred.
Data analysis skills, both qualitative and quantitative

Ability to communicate clearly and work well with business users to gather requirements.
Experience in planning and leading cross team meetings, facilitation and presentation is required.
Proficient in basic SQL is a plus.
Experience creating reports or dashboards using Power BI, Cognos Analytics, Tableau or other Business Intelligence tools preferred.
Project Management experience required (Microsoft Project experience is a plus)
Experience in business requirements gathering required.
Pro-active, process-driven, with a strong focus on understanding and exceeding the expectations of the customer.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables and PowerQuery

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring extensive periods of sitting, with arms extended as well as walking and standing.
Hybrid remote and on-site work schedule available at the discretion of the supervising manager.
INDEPENDENT ACTION
Incumbent generally establishes own work plans and priorities, including the development and utilization of appropriate analytic strategies, methodologies, and activities to assure accurate, valid, and timely completion of work in conformance with organizational and department policies and practices.

None.

Pay Range:

$80,668.95-$133,111.16
