Job Title: Field Services Telecommunications Technician (Hospital Setting) Role Overview Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining telecommunications systems in a hospital environment, including Daisy chain software phone setups. The role ensures reliable communication infrastructure for clinical and administrative operations. Key Responsibilities * Installation & Configuration * Perform Daisy chain software phone installations for VoIP and analog systems. * Set up and test telephony devices (emergency phones, intercoms, facsimile terminals). * Run new wiring and replace jacks, lids, and pedestals as needed. * Maintenance & Troubleshooting * Diagnose and resolve technical faults in telecommunications systems. * Troubleshoot POTS/analog lines for alarm panels and elevator systems. * Handle move/add/change requests for phones and related equipment. * Project Work * Participate in large-scale upgrades and hospital technology projects. * Collaborate with engineers and IT teams for system integration. * Compliance & Safety * Maintain inventory of hardware/software and adhere to hospital safety standards. * Ensure installations meet infection control and HIPAA compliance requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent technical training. * 1-2 years of experience in telephony or low-voltage cabling. * Familiarity with: * VoIP systems and IP networking basics. * Digital/analog cross-connect wiring and patch panels. * Tools such as punch-down kits, tone generators, and test sets. * Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. * Strong customer service and communication skills. Preferred Certifications * BICSI, Network+, or A+ certifications. * Experience with PBX provisioning and hospital-grade telecom systems. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
