WHAT YOU WILL DO Job Duties Responsible for the overall finance and operations of the Development Division and the GSU Foundation. Works in tandem with the Vice President of Development/GSU Foundation, President, other AVP's of development, other university and GSU Foundation leadership to plan land establish goals and objectives. Keeps current with changes in the industry as it applies to the fundraising, foundation and endowment administration to assure knowledge of the most current techniques and trends and the appropriate application of them. Provide in-depth analysis on budget, financial and operational matters. Provide long range financial planning forecasts for the Division and GSU Foundation, including new initiatives and ventures. Ensure the integrity of the financial and donor records data. Oversees internal and external financial, gift and survey reporting. Ensures financial audits, gift receipting, real estate, lax and other reporting is completed as required and is in compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsible for managerial leadership for the accounting (investments, real estate, financials and budgeting), gift and records management, and information systems departments. Meet regularly with the managers of each department Mentor employees. Acquire and maintain knowledge of GSU and GSU Foundation policies and procedures and assuring alignment with strategic direction and goals. Develop policies and provide guidance for implementation. Acquire and utilize managerial land interpersonal skills of negotiation, conflict resolution, active listening and team leadership. Foster open environment of dialogue with the department mangers that results in the identification, planning and implementation of department services that are efficient and with effective internal controls. Ensure there is cooperative interaction with other division and college and university units. Provide managerial leadership for and on behalf of the Division. Become knowledgeable of all aspects of the business and actively contribute ideas and opinions that further the interests of University Advancement. Act as a resource for the Division, colleges and units on administrative and financial matters, strategies, policies and procedures. Communicates and meets regularly with vice presidents, deans, assistant vice presidents, business and development officers. Provide managerial leadership for and on behalf of the GSU Foundation. Become knowledgeable of all aspects of the business and actively contribute ideas and opinions that further the interests of the GSU Foundation. Provides training and acts as a resource for board of trustees, committees, donors and volunteers on administrative and financial matters. Staffs the GSU Foundation Audit, Finance, Investment and Real Estate committees. Coordinate committee meetings. Provide relevant information and researched ideas to committee members. Ensure minutes are taken and distributed. Functions as the primary contact for internal and external financial and operational relationships, such as accounting and audit, investments, banking, real estate financing, gift and records management.
