New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is looking for a Laboratory Instrument Services Technician for a full time position with our client. Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000/yr M-F, core hours, onsite As a Laboratory Instrument Services Technician, you will calibrate, maintain, and complete the major repairs of scientific instrumentation. This person is responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments. Job Responsibilities:
- Take apart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and take care of lab instrumentation, systems, and controls.
- Operate test equipment including multimeters and tachometers. Testing/measuring includes but not limited to humidity, temperature, CO2, and O2.
- Coordinate the removal of equipment requiring extensive repairs during scheduled maintenance periods.
- Troubleshoot, service or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work.
- Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment. If needed, start corrective action and documentation.
- Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements. Communicate with customer staff and outside contractors about the calibration, repair, and operation of equipment.
- Locate part sources, estimate costs, and prepare requisitions.
- Track instrument and part reliability; make alternate service, supplier, and parts recommendations.
- Assisting with the development of equipment maintenance, and calibration procedures.
- Impact the quality of own work.
- Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma
- 1-2 years of job-related experience.
- Prior experience working in a lab environment within a pharmaceutical company.
- Experience working with Incubators and Microscopes and performing preventative maintenance & repairs on this type of equipment.
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems and attention to detail.
- Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
- Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
- Basic mechanical background.
- Strong communication skills.
