Assistant Director of Nursing Established in 1986, the Anchor Hospital is a 122-bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for Adolescents, Adults and Senior Adults. Located in College Park, Anchor Hospital serves Mental Health and Substance Abuse patients from all over the Southeast through our Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, Outpatient, and Tricare program for active duty and veterans. Patients who come to Anchor Hospital are in crisis, and the road to recovery for behavioral, mental health, and substance abuse patients is a difficult one. Please visit us online at: https://anchorhospital.com/ The Assistant Director of Nursing develops department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures, and organizes the department in accordance with administrative guidelines. The ADON functions in an advisory capacity to Administration in evaluating proposed procedural changes as they relate to patient care. This position directs the implementation and ensures compliance with the Standard of Nursing Practice that promotes optimum health care delivery. This position will oversee the activities of infection control and staff education. As the ADON, the incumbent develops and provides oversight for the hospital-wide education and training program, and assists department managers in providing education and training needs of staff based on requirements of the Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, State and Federal guidelines. To perform this job successfully, the ADON must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily, needs to be self-motivated, self-directed, creative, energetic and able to manage multiple tasks. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience: Prefer four (4) years' experience as a Nurse Leader. Prefer two (2) years in psychiatric nursing. Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration. License/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. Current CPR Certification required. Current Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation certification. Skills: Demonstrated leadership, communication, teaching and management skills. Working knowledge of Joint Commission standards, OSHA and GA state requirements for employee training and education. Must be knowledgeable of and abide by HIPAA regulations with regard to protected health information as defined by HIPAA and ABS. Uses and/or discloses on a daily basis verbal, written and/or electronic PHI in order to perform job duties, as pertains to patients' financial, demographic and/or clinical data; and/or employees' financial, demographic and/or clinical data. Physical Requirements: Work is physically and mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs. Must be able to lift/ push/ pull fifty+ (50+) pounds. Other: Performs other duties as may be assigned by the DON or CEO. | |
