As part of the marketing and communications department, writers work with subject matter experts across the organization torepresentour locations, services, providers andmissionon our system and entity sites.Our original web content speaks primarily to patients with the goals of sharing all that UNC Health offers and helping people make decisions about their health and well-being. Content on our sites must be:Scannable,accessibleandaccurateOptimizedfor AI search and SEOPatient-focused in service to the people of North CarolinaKey ResponsibilitiesCollaboration is an expectation for our web content writers, including:Within the web content team tomaintaininternal drafting,reviewand revision processes(including alignment with our style guide and AP Style), as well as coordinating efforts to complete large web content projectsWith the marketing technology team toplan for a successful transition from written draft to published pageWith stakeholders andSMEs to understand content requests and goals and to gather information with a customer service mindsetWith the greater marketing and communications team to better understand consumer insights, brandrequirementsand marketing objectivesIn addition to being an exceptional and detail-oriented writer with a passion for the craft,you'llalso need to be able to:Apply best practices for SEO and AI optimizationFact-checkyourwriting to ensure accuracyApply brand voice guidelinesManage multiple projects simultaneously, with varying timelines and requirementsEmbracea culture of psychological safety and open communicationApplicants are encouraged to include a cover letter and writing samplesor portfolio linktodemonstratetheir interest in the position and the strength of their writing experience.Healthcare writing experience preferred butnotrequired.
